Cardamom
extended losses for the second day with prices falling 3 per cent to
Rs 870.80 per kg in futures trade today as speculators engaged in
trimming positions, tracking a weak trend at spot market on sluggish
demand.
At
the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in June plunged
by Rs 26.90, or 3 per cent to Rs 870.80 per kg in business turnover
of 123 lots.
In a similar fashion, the
spice for delivery in July contract traded lower by Rs 10.10, or 1.13
per cent to Rs 885 per kg in 270 lots.
Market
analysts said besides sluggish demand in the spot market against
adequate stocks position, mainly pulled down cardamom prices at
futures trade.
